Help - What does THIS mean???

OK, I just put in my today's temp on FF, and am totally shocked because I got a dotted red "O" and CL!! What does this mean? I really don't think I've "O"ed yet (I'm still having lots of EWCM and haven't gotten a + OPK yet), and maybe FF doesn't really think I've "O"ed yet, either (and that's why the line is dotted?). Then why would they put the line at all? What do you all think??

I guess I should be careful what I ask for, huh? I was wishing for a short cycle this time, and now I've possibly "O"ed on CD10!! AHHHHH!!! This is SO frustrating!! Thanks for any thoughts! I know I probably just need to be patient, but it's so HARD! Thanks girls!

P.S. I just noticed that on my homepage (which is what you all see) the "O" line and CL are not dotted, but on the chart I see, they are. What's the deal?

Hi Abby,

The dotted line means that FF is not positive that you O'd. Looking at your temps, FF probably based an O date based on your increasing temps, but looking at your CM, FF said "but that doesn't match." I had a dotted line last month, too. I believe you are the only one who can see the dotted line...not sure why they do it that way. Are you sick, or is there another reason that your temps might be up today?

Good luck,

Thanks Christy! That's what I was guessing the dotted line meant - that FF thinks it's "possible" that I've "O"ed but they're not ready to commit to that yet. Did your dotted line last cycle turn out to be correct? What was it that didn't match in your case? Maybe it would be a better idea in these cases, then, to just not put in an "O" date or CL until they are sure. But I know that FF IS only a software program, so it does have its limits.

I wonder, in cases where all the factors (temps, CM, OPKs) don't match up, which is more reliable, temps or CM and OPKs?? This question is not just for Christy - anyone else reading it is more than welcome to offer opinions! Any and all help is appreciated!! :)

I think the temps are the most reliable, but I don't think you O'd on CD10 based on your temps. My guess is that your one really low temp is throwing FF off. If you disregard it, I bet they take away your CL. Thats because the pre-o dip is a pattern that some people get and FF probably is programed to look for, but overall your temps did not rise above previous temps until today. So you might have o'd yesterday, or you may be yet to o. Time will tell. Have you gotten any darker OPKs that just weren't quite +? Are you taking your temps consistently ?

Hope this helps. The last time I got a dotted line, it was later changed to a few days later.
