Help...need some input on BFP (m)

You guys are so wonderful with answering all these questions, I thought someone out here may be able to help out. I took an HPT last Sunday (03/23) and it came out a BFP, somewhat dark line (even took the test in the late afternoon). I took another test on Friday night with DH and the line was very faint. I chalked it up to being late in the evening and had just gone to the bathroom a couple hours before. So, I decided to test again with FMU, which I did on today (03/30). The line again was very faint. I am very concerned my HCG is not raising or in fact is lowering. I plan on calling the drs. office in the morning, but any input would be appreciated.

TIA,

Jen

CONGRATS on the positive!!!!

If I had to guess...I would say that the different types of tests used as

well as the time of day it was taken would probably make a difference in the

darkness of the line. But..a line is a line!!!!!!

Oh, Jen. I hope the latest tests were defective. One week after a dark positive and the test line should be so dark that it actually is pulling color from the control line. Please call your doctor immediately. It sounds like you may be having what is typically called a chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage). What happens is that an egg is fertilized, but when it goes to implant, it doesn't do so adequately enough (usually due to low progesterone) and falls off after a few days. My doctor likened it to a felt dart that sticks for a moment and then falls...I'm so sorry if this is the case. If you catch it in time, they can give you progesterone suppositories asap. So you didn't call the doctor after your bfp? You need a progesterone draw, an hCG quantitative analysis and progesterone suppositories. Many women (like me) have to lose a pregnancy before finding out they have low progesterone. I hope I am completely wrong and this doesn't happen to you. Good luck.
