How do YOU determine coverline?

I just received my coverline from ff and it's a lot lower than I thought it should be. I have read that you take your highest temp from the past 6 days and add 1 degree, which would make my coverline 97.6 (which seems to make more sense). However, ff set it at 97.1. Is ff right? Does it really make that much difference as long as you can see the temp changes? How do you guys determine yours, do you go by ff?

Here's my chart if you would like to look at it.

Thanks for your help.

I follow the previous 6 day rule from TCOYF. Fertility Friend really confuses me!

Per TCOYF, you're right, your coverline would be at 97.6. FF calculates coverline differently than TCOYF. Sometimes it will give you a coverline the same as TCOYF, but other times it won't. My last cycle, I figured out that FF initially drew my coverline at the *average* of the 6 temps preceding ovulation. Very weird stuff. After that, FF changed my O date and coverline and drew my coverline at equal to one of my post-O temps. Again, very weird stuff.

If you follow the TCOYF instructions for drawing a coverline, I think that will give you a better breakdown between your range of highs and your range of lows. FF's handbook doesn't even tell us how they calculate coverline, just that once upon a time they followed FAM/TCOYF, and that they have since "refined" it. Just take what FF tells you with a grain of salt.

Good luck to you!
