How early can you "O"?

This is the first month charting BBT, checking CM and testing with OPK. I think that I am getting ready to O soon, but what I'm wondering is....how early in the cycle can someone ovulate? I have a very regular 28 day cycle, so I always assumed that I O on CD14, but today is only CD7 and I am starting to see signs of impending ovulation. Would it be too early for me to O in a few days (would be CD10 or so)? This would completely explain why the heck I haven't been able to get pregnant - we've been doing it too late! I hope the BBT and OPK give me a definite indication of Oing, but like I said, it's my "first time", so I'm still learning....thanks!

We generally O 12-16 days before AF arrives... so if you've been on a 28-day cycle, you probably O somewhere from day 12-16.

It IS possible to have several days of EWCM before O... last cycle, I had 5-6 days of EWCM before O. If you're getting EWCM on CD7, that's right in line with a possible CD12 ovulation... so get to BDing girlfriend! =)

The period of time from O til AF is called the luteal phase (LP). It's typically 12-16 days; your LP should remain somewhat constant for you... that is, if it's usually 14 days, you won't see it vary by too much from month to month. There CAN be a lot of variation in your pre-O timeframe though - some women might O on CD14 one month, CD21 the next, etc. Even in those cases, the LP stays about the same number of days every month.

Good luck to you!

Thanks, Tami! Yeah, I have TONS of creamy CM. I don't know....could be the Robitussin, could be the V8 Splash, could be the constant thought of BDing ;) Whatever it is, I wish my boyfriend would get home from the damn bar and help me out (you know, Monday night football...)!!!!

Now, I'm wondering if creamy CM is too thick for the sperm to move through? Is it preferred that it be thinner in consistancy, like EW? I guess it might thin out as I get closer to Oing..... I've never tracked CM, so I'll soon find out!

Creamy can be fertile, but eggwhite is definitely better! A lot of women progress steadily in their cycles - a few days of dry, a few days of sticky, a few days of creamy, and finally a few days of eggwhite/watery. I'm guessing you'll see your CM thin out and take on more eggwhite qualities in the next few days.

Good luck tonight! (I'd try to commiserate with you on the %$!@ football... but I'm a huge football fan and am watching the game myself!!!)
