How long do the littleguys live up there

I know I've probably read this here or on parentsplace in general a hundred times but can someone refresh my memory....how long does sperm live/last once it's inside you? I know it can survive longer in good wet cervical fluid - but how long? And how long does it stand a chance if you're drying up?
I had wet cm on Sat/Sun and bd'd and I got a positive opk on Monday - but not very wet cm at all - it had started to dry up I believe...bd'd anyway Mon & Tues. So I'm wondering how they all were doing up there (LOL) once the cm started to dry up - or if the ones from Sunday's bd were still lingering around long enough to catch O.
Today (Thurs) I feel very very slightly crampy or that things are active down there somehow so I'm wondering if I am O'ing now - LATER than the positive opk indicated - and so what the heck...I think we'll bd tonight...dh thinks he's hit the jackpot lately I'm sure!!!!

Those "little guys" can last anywhere from 12 hours to 5 days! It does depend on your CM, but just because you *think* you dried up, there could still have been plenty of fertile cm up at the cervix for them to survive. After you bd they swim directly through your cervix and hang out in hairs and folds of your tubes- gradually released by the moving hairs- hopefully in time to meet the released egg!
Sounds like your timing is just fine! GL and I hope you caught it!

Took an ovulation prediction test yesterday, no line.. Took one this morning, line that was equally as dark as the test line. Did BD last night. DH works nights and I was wondering if we should BD again before he goes to work tonight or wait til I get home tomorrow afternoon. According to the Kit O can occur within 24-48. Will the sperm live til tomorrow afternoon or should I go for the BD today.
Thanks in advance,
Liv
