How soon do people really test?

Most of the stuff I have read says that you should wait until you miss your period to take a HPT for the most accurate results.
But... how soon do people actually take them? How early have you gotten BFPs? When have you taken it when it was BFN and later came back as BFP?

&nbs
Some do start testing at 7-8 dpo.
It's always recommended to wait until after you miss AF, but most women who desperatey want a baby can't wait that long! :) I started testing at 10 DPO, but didn't see a BFP until 13 DPO. HTH!
Hi Marilee
I just tested at 10DPO and got BFN and then at 11DPO and got a BFP, all be it a faint positive. From what I've been told 12DPo is a good time to test but can still get a false neg, varies with every person.
Either way I could never hold out too long before testing,
Good Luck
Laura
Thanks! That is really helpful. I am hoping to test soon, but I don't want to spend tons of money testing every day with hopes that AF won't arrive.
When I bought the tests today, the cashier was visibly pregnant. I'm hoping some baby dust rubbed off as I was checking out.
