hypothyroid question

Geez, lots of questions today. Must not want to work... Anyhow, I think I posted somewhere that I have a thyroid problem, but conflicting doctor stories. My regular doc said that hypothyroid can be a cause of infertility. If so...where is the infertile part? Is it that I wouldn't be releasing the egg, or that it wouldn't implant, or that it would be a higher risk of not "sticking"? Any clue?
Then, my endocrinologist (the guy actually treating the thyroid problem) said that once my thyroid hormones are adjusted correctly (by synthroid), I should no longer consider myself as having a thyroid problem. When I asked about pregnancy, he simply said that I needed to see him 6 weeks into the pregnancy for labs. I
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Tx.

I think having hypoactive thyroid can cause infertility if not treated but it shouldn't be a problem once you are on the right dose of Synthroid. I've been on Synthroid for years and had no problems conceiving my first two children. Good luck!
