Does anyone else out there have hypothyroidism? I've heard that if your TSH levels are abnormal, it can make it hard to conceive. I was diagnosed about 8 years ago and have been on Synthroid ever since - at varying levels - it seems like everytime my doc does a blood test, he changes the dosage. DH and I have been TTC for a couple of months and I'm just wondering if I should be concerned and seek help now?

I too am hypothyroid. I was diagnosed about 8 year ago as well. I am on 150 mcg of Unithroid. Fortunately, the last two blood test have been within normal rage. Prior to that it seems my levels flucuated each time i got a blood test and my dr. kept changing my dosage. I've heard the same thing, that it is hard to get pg if your levels are not within a normal range.
DH (35) and I (38) have been trying for 12+ months, however, I just started charting two cycles ago. Since charting, I feel much more in tune and aware of the changes of my body. So, I feel I am more informed and hopefully will have better chances of pg.
Here's hoping for two BFP this month!! Good luck!

Sounds like we have the same doc - I haven't started charting yet, have only been seriously trying for 1 cycle. Haven't had a blood test recently - maybe doing that will put my mind at ease.
It's nice to know someone out there in the same boat - Thanks for your response and Best of luck to you!

I had my thyroid removed a few years ago and I am on replacement hormones, as well. My doc told me that I needed to be in the "high normal" range for the best possible chance at getting pregnant. I think they said they wanted to see my TSH around 2. I don't know if it is different for me because I do not have a thyroid at all. It is worth asking the doc about!
Good luck,
