I guess I'm a late ovulator....

Its CD16, still no positive OPKs, and I'm FINALLY noticing a change in CM. I was pretty dry up until a couple of days ago, and even now it's kind of hard to check because it's not all that abundant. I marked what I saw today off as "creamy" (I think its creamy anyway...).

Does anyone else ovulate late into their cycle?

Hi,

I used OPK's for my last cycle. I was expecting to ovulate on CD 16, but I did not get a positive OPK unitl CD 17, and ovulation on CD 18.
Don't give up, keep testing. It will come soon.

I tend to O pretty late in my cycle, too (and I'm on Clomid!). I regularly don't O until past CD 20. Looking at your chart I don't think you have to worry about having missed your surge. You definitely haven't O'd. Once you begin to see EWCM and/or watery CM, you'll know you're getting close. I think I remember reading that you sometimes have up to 35 day long cycles. That would put you Oing at about CD 21 (or later if you have a shorter luteal phase). Keep BDing (every other day would be best) and keep up the charting/OPK's. I'm sure you'll see your O soon.

First of all, this board is such a blessing. I really don't know what I would do without it and you ladies. Its so nice to be able to ask all my silly questions and vent my anxieties to women who understand EXACTLY what I'm going through and can give me some insight, either with their knowledge or personal experience. So THANKS!!

It just seemed to me from lurking and browsing the charts on FF that most women ovulate mid-cycle or earlier. I read a few posts (on a different site - actually reviews for a fertility monitor, which I'm not buying yet) where women said that they were surprised to learn they ovulate earlier than expected, like day 10 or 11! I was beside myself wondering what was wrong with me. But yes, I do have long cycles sometimes. I've gone 35 days and on ocassion, longer than that. Have longish, semi-irregular cycles is frustrating, but I'm hanging in there.

This is my first month charting and doing OPKs, and I've definitely learned a lot. Absolutely, next month I will wait much longer to start the OPKs, and my temping habits will be much better. This is a great learning experience for me, and I'm just happy I'm finally paying attention and learning about my own body.

Thanks everyone!

I used to ovulate as late as day 27, and get AF a week later. Since starting Clomid (and now Femara) on days 3-7 I've been able to bring my ovulation up closer to the middle of my cycle and lengthen my luteal phase to give me a better chance of having sticky eggs!

Yes, I'm very interested to see when I finally do ovulate, and then how soon after that AF arrives. Next time I go see the doc, I'd love to be more informed so we can get this ball rolling!
