Hello everyone!!! Carmen here at I guess c3, CD50. Sorry I haven't posted in so long! (I go away on vacation, and the whole board gets changed!!!)....

I went to the infertility doctor on Wednesday with DH. The doc agrees that most likely I am not Oing. He took some blood to make sure there aren't any other hormone problems, and after I next get AF he wants to do some kind of internal xray (it has a really looooong name that starts with a H) to rule out any physical problems, and he wants to check DH's ummm.....swimmers....heehee...just to make sure that that won't catch us by surprise later on. But he really thinks it's me. So, after we get all this other work back, he'll talk with us about what to do next. The thing that kind of bugged me is that he wants to wait until the next time I see him (in three weeks) before bringing on AF. I guess he is hoping that she'll show herself before than, but he wants to wait. The thing is that he can't do the xray until between days 5-15 (before I would O) of my next cycle. Has anyone had this xray thing done before? (he injects dye into me, and then does this internal xray; I didn't want to get into too much detail about how it happens, but he gave me the general idea!)

So that's where we are in TTC world. I hope everyone else is doing well! Good luck to all this cycle!

Carmen, welcome back! The xray your dr wants to do is abbreviated HSG (I can't remember the really long name!). I had it done this cycle on cd5, and honestly, it wasn't that bad. Kind of like a bad pap smear. The local anesthetic on the cervix was the worst part, but it was over fairly quickly. The dye causes some cramping, but it was no worse for me than normal menstrual cramps...Aleve is a wonderful drug!

The best part was getting to watch it on the monitor. He had to tell me what I was seeing, but once he explained, you could see the dye filling the uterus and going through the tubes. My dr said it's one of the best tests they can perform to determine if you have an oddly shaped uterus or a blockage in a tube. Also, many women have told me they got pg the month of the HSG or shortly afterwards, because apparently the dye helps clear out any debris that might be there.

I'm glad I had mine done, and I'm hoping to see a bfp soon. One piece of advice, if AF does show on her own before you go back to see him, call to schedule an appointment that day. If you wait to see him, you might miss your window of opportunity.

Good luck. I hope things work out for you soon.
