It has to do with taking B6 to lengthen the luteal phase. If anyone is doing this, I'd love to hear from you. Or even if you've read about it!

My LP isn't so hot. It's been 11, 12, and this last time 8 days. Now, that 8 day one could certainly have been a fluke. We'll know at the end of this cycle, I guess! I have read that many women have lengthened their LP by taking B6 vitamins (a B complex that has at least 50mg of B6). You can start out low, w/50mg, and work your way up. However, one thing I haven't found out, is: once you're pg, do you stop taking the extra B? Does anyone know?

I understand that many doctors don't think B6 does anything for you. But I've read many positive experiences about it. I'd just like to find an alternative to drugs on this one. If B6 doesn't work for me, I'll try it in combination w/a progesterone cream, maybe. But if anyone has any insight on this, I'd love to hear it!

TIA!

Ok here is what I found on the web. Good old google.

Looks like women do take it during PG. I would have to look at my prenatal pills to see how much is in there. There is a risk of over doing it. I would ask my OB, I do have an appt and I will add it to my list. Although there is not an issue with a 10-12 day LP. HTH

Thanks so much! Those were awesome links! I guess I only searched on LP & B6 ... I should have broadened the search! So I guess taking some extra B6 is okay during a pg. My prenatal vitamin only has something like 2.6mg -- not very much at all! But I guess typically that's all we'd need. I think if I'm not pg this time, I'll call up my OB & talk to the nurse or something -- let them know I want to take 50 mg extra, and see what they say. I just am not ready to go in for infertility.

Anyway, that info helped a LOT. I now have some ideas I can go to my dr. with. Thanks again!
