For those of you out there who are thinking about getting an HSG done, I got one done last Wednesday. I truly recommend it so that you can scratch off any issues with you tubes as a reason for not getting pregnant. I am very excited that I did it. My tubes are fine. The procedure was a breeze, except when they set up the tools and clean up the cervix. No pain, and no post symptoms (except for the antibiotics that have made me very nausious). We have been trying for 12 months now without any luck. DH has been checked, I got the HSG and my hormones checked and everything seems to be fine. Our next step is to see an infertility (IVF) doctor to see how he can help us.

Thanks for listening. Good luck you all!

Hi!

Thanks a lot for the info. We have been trying for a while now and I am thinking of getting an HSG done in November. They say, women get pg within 3 months of an HSG. So, here's a TON of BFP vibes your way!!!!

Love & HUGS

PPG Mentioned...

I also had my HSG done this week! I thought it was very uncomfortable but tolerable all in all it took about 5 mintues for the entire procedure. One thing I did not expect was to sign forms that had detailed information of what could go wrong. It almost made me change my mind! I thought the nurse and Radiologist were great but I asked them a lot of questions regarding possible causes of infection or symptoms of infection caused from the HSG procedure. I have only been trying TTC for the past 5 months but have a history of endo. prior to the birth of my 6 yr old. thus the HSG. My tubes were clear so it put my mind more at ease about TTC.

For those that do have this procedure I recommend you take 800mg of Motrin and two tylenol prior to the procedure just in case one might get cramping from the procedure just check with the Dr. to confirm this. Good luck and I will keep everyone posted!

WTG and thanks for sharing. I just did DH S/A results then I will have the HSG scheduled after my doc appt next Friday. Probably have to wait until next cycle cuz I would have O'd by then. But I figure its a great thing and doesn't do anything bad for you. Good idea to clean out those 29 year old tubs!!! So proud of you for taking the next step.

Thanks you all!! I hope THIS IS our cycle. We will be O'ing next weekend so wish us luck!!! Serendipitiesfate, were your tubes OK when you did your exam? I am just wondering if, even if your tubes are clean by the time you get the HSG done, there is still a higher chance of getting pg.

Thanks again.

Yes my fallo. tubes were clear. But as I was told b4 hand that there can be a small amount of mucous that is blocking the tubes, that can not be seen on the xray. So when the dye goes in it just pushes it out of the way and that is how a lot of women get pregnant afterwards. SO best of luck to you!!!!!!!!!
