I just got an HSG exam done...

For those of you out there who are thinking about getting an HSG done, I got one done last Wednesday. I truly recommend it so that you can scratch off any issues with you tubes as a reason for not getting pregnant. I am very excited that I did it. My tubes are fine. The procedure was a breeze, except when they set up the tools and clean up the cervix. No pain, and no post symptoms (except for the antibiotics that have made me very nausious). We have been trying for 12 months now without any luck. DH has been checked, I got the HSG and my hormones checked and everything seems to be fine. Our next step is to see an infertility (IVF) doctor to see how he can help us.
Thanks for listening. Good luck you all!

Thanks a lot for the info. We have been trying for a while now and I am thinking of getting an HSG done in November. They say, women get pg within 3 months of an HSG. So, here's a TON of BFP vibes your way!!!!

I also had my HSG done this week! I thought it was very uncomfortable but tolerable all in all it took about 5 mintues for the entire procedure. One thing I did not expect was to sign forms that had detailed information of what could go wrong. It almost made me change my mind! I thought the nurse and Radiologist were great but I asked them a lot of questions regarding possible causes of infection or symptoms of infection caused from the HSG procedure. I have only been trying TTC for the past 5 months but have a history of endo. prior to the birth of my 6 yr old. thus the HSG. My tubes were clear so it put my mind more at ease about TTC.
For those that do have this procedure I recommend you take 800mg of Motrin and two tylenol prior to the procedure just in case one might get cramping from the procedure just check with the Dr. to confirm this. Good luck and I will keep everyone posted!

Thanks again.
