I need some help here...

Hi ladies.

I'm writing this while on vacation (obsession). Last cycle I O'ed on day 18 or 19, according to FF. I DID get a + OPK on the evening of day 18, but my post O temps were so low that I questioned whether or not I really O'ed at all.

This cycle, we're away AND I'm sick. That in itself is a bummer but its making temping a problem. Because of traveling and being up sick during the night, I've had to miss a temp or two and I've also taken my temp a little later than usual some days, and I really had no choice.

I'm currently on CD 19, with no + OPK and no signs of ovulation, like the sore BBs I usually get. I've had a couple of super-long anovulatory cycles in the past, and I'm wondering if this could be one of those cycles, even though it is a little soon to say.

I'm also wondering if the traveling and being sick could be what's delaying O.

I just found out I have PCOS not too long ago, and have been obsessed with whether or not I'm Oing ever since. This doesn't make me feel better :(

Thanks.

What is you doctor using to treat your PCOS? I've been living with it for 6 years (and probably longer before the diagnosis then) and I'm on Metformin 500mg 3x/day and I ovulate normally and my cycles are consistently 35days since I began treatment. Before diagnosis 6 years ago, my cycles were very very messed up and I only O'd every other month, but after I started Metformin it completely changed it. Now I'm not sure if your doctor told you but women with PCOS can't rely on OPK's all the time because in some cases of the PCOS the LH levels are out of whack. I luckily do not have the LH issue with my disorder but a lot of women do, so it might be good to check this out. My doctor also said she recommends a fertility monitor for most of her PCOS patients to see what's normal for you individually and you'll be able to recognize Ovulation more distinctly.

Very interesting....this is basically where I'm at:

About a month ago I had a U/S which showed that my ovaries were cystic. I got a call from the NP in the office who basically told me that cystic ovaries mean I have PCOS, to some degree. Just how much that will affect my fertility, if it does at all, will remain to be seen. I told her that I do get periods pretty regularly, with the exception of the occasional really late period, which now I think might have been late ovulation or an anovulatory cycle.

After that U/S, I did wind up getting a + OPK on day 18 and got my period on day 32. I had my day 3 blood work and everything appeared normal, except for slightly high prolactin. I am currently away on vacation, otherwise I'd be having my day 21 blood work around this time.

As far as "treating" the PCOS, she seems pretty confident that I am ovulating on my own because I've had + OPKs and get a regular period. Once I do some more blood work and the HSG, she wants to start me on 50mg of Clomid.

However, I am now on day 19 with nothing but neg. OPKs, and I'm hoping this is due to my being a little sick and traveling. I'm trying to be patient but this is very frustrating.

Do you suggest I do something else or ask her to do more? I was devestated by this "diagnosis" and I'm wondering just how much it's really affecting me. I'm very confused and upset by it.
