Okay, here is my story….

I have a DD (March02) we conceived her the first month, no problem. Last month we started trying for number 2…. But I just got my period so I know it didn’t work as easy as it did with DD.

I am confused as to when I should start BD’ing.

Normally I am every 31 days… my last period was July 12th- so I was due to get AF on August 12th, but she came on August 8th (28days)…. So now I am confused as to when to start BD’ing…

I thought we would start 8/17-8/29, every other day! Does that sound right? I thought it would cover my bases for a 28 or 31 day cycle.

Help anyone!

I think you're on the right track, if all you want to do is guesstimate ovulation by the calendar. With a 28-day cycle, you should target BDing August 19-23. With a 31-day cycle, you should target BDing August 22-26. If your husband's semen is normal (has he had an SA?), you can even BD every day.

Keep a close eye on your CM also (cervical mucus) - you are most fertile when it is creamy or "eggwhite." (You can tell this through manual feeling, or by looking at your panties - infertile CM forms "lines" or "rectangles," while fertile CM forms more symmetrical circles.) The most fertile CM is stretchy and the consistency of egg whites. Creamy CM may be milky or lotiony.

Are you thinking of charting your temps and CM? This will help you figure out even more accurately when ovulation is about to occur, and when it has occurred. If this is a route you want to go, consider the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler.

Good luck to you!

Hi!

I agree with Tami. I'd start temp-ing and charting to get an idea of when you're most fertile.

My dr. says to BD every other day, starting on day 10, through ovulation. She says that will maximize the amount of healthy sperm... the key is to have them around before, during, and after O just to make sure you catch the eggie!

GL to you!!!

Since we were able to get pg with DD in one month, and since this is only the 2nd month we are attempting to concieve I am jsut going to go by CM and the calendar... however if I do not get pg this cycle I will probally start tracking my temp or using a OPK...

Thanks for all the great suggestions and information....

I am hoping that increased information will help me pinpoint my O'ing and give us a successful time to BD!
