What the heck!?! Okay soo for the past few months i have been having increasingly worse stomach akes and Diarreah after having milk. Cheese never does it to me, but ICE cream and Milk do. And Not that I have them often when i do I have really negative reactions.

For awile i just was thinking whatever and ignoring it but now i am thinking it might be best to try and not ingest soo much milk and get my calcium from other things.

Oh well. I guess I wont be having cearal and milk anymore.

Actually I'm lactose intolerant (self-diagnosed, I've never even talked to a doctor about it.) and it's the same thing for me. Ice cream and milk give me diarrhea and stomach aches, but yogurt and cheese and sour cream don't. It hit me pretty gradually... I used to drink milk all the time as a kid! Now I use soy milk instead. I highly recommend it, it can totally replace regular milk. (I use vanilla Silk, and even my skeptical DH likes it). AND it has calcium! :)

Its happening to me too. Personally I am milk freak I love drinking milk until a while ago I was starting to get sensitive to it. I read it in a magazine it states u may be allergic to it if it cause u bloatness *sp?*and such I tend to get bloated with milk so I just light up on my intake of milk will never stop drinking milk haha. Have u tried soy milk or 2% and skim milk? Maybe that will helps.

It sounds like lactose intolerance, which is quite common because as people get older (and by older I mean become adults) their body produces less of the lactase enzyme that breaks down the sugar in milk. It's not as much of a problem for cheese or yogurt because bacteria used in the manufacturing of these products helps break down the sugar. But there are lactase (Lacteeze) pills that can be taken before you consume milk or ice cream that can help prevent problems. Also, there is milk that comes with added lactase, called Lactaid. In addition to that, there are other options of course, like soy milk and rice milk, etc.

I'm lactose intolerance as well. A great alternative to regular milk is soy or rice milk. We LOVE soy milk in our house! We use the vanilla flavor with cereal and such, but the chocolate is my absolute favorite. :)

I think it might be lactose intolerance as well. I'm lactose intolerant (self-diagnosed), but it's really only milk that gives me problems, and in large quantities. I can have a small glass of regular milk and be ok on occasion. I'd recommend lactose-free milk. It's readily available in the grocery stores and doesn't taste that different from regular milk. Lactaid is one brand, but typically stores have their own version which may be cheaper. I personally hate the taste of soy milk unless it's to make a mocha or hot chocolate from Starbucks.
