Hi everyone,

Im back! The doctor said that my and my husband's tests all came back good!!!!! That is excellent news!

It doesn't however explain why we are still ttc#1 after sooo long...The doctor said that I am probably not "sustaining ovulation"...whatever that means...

Anyways, she has put me on 50 mg of clomid times 3 cycles. Now I just have to wait for AF to arrive so I can start them on day 5. Im a bit nervous about taking them though because I've heard varying things about it...bad cramping...serious mood swings...

Does anyone else have any experience in this? Anyone else going to be starting clomid in about 2 weeks?

Thanks for all your support ladies!! Good luck to all of you.

I'm so glad to hear that everything is fine. I'm sure you are relieved. I don't know anything about Clomid, but I hope it does the trick for you! *Smiles*

I'll email you later,

Megan

Hi Cheri!!

I just ovulated 3 days ago after taking my first round of Clomid! The side effects for me were not bad at all.

I had a headache off and on the first 2 days and then I was dizzy and had dry mouth and throat.

Everyone suggested to me to take them at night before bed - this was a good idea because of the dizziness.

I think I even slept better because of them. LOL

My Dr told me to take them days 1- 5, and alot of other Dr's suggest other days as well. I think there are new studies out that say that taking them earlier in your cycle gives better results. (of course I am no expert by any means, but maybe you would want to ask your dr about this.)

I do know that I finally Ovualated after 88 days of no O or AF. LOL

Here is a great link with clomid users, and a great poll that I saw on FF. (very inspiring)

How long did it take you to get pregnant on clomid?

One month

47%

Two months

39%

Three months

8%

Four months

4%

Five months

0%

Here is the other website I was talking about - I just found it this morning and am glad I did!

come join us down at the CLomid board - it a link just a few down from the TTC board.

Good luck to you!!!!

I'm glad to hear everything went well.. I think there is a chance that I am getting ready to start Clomid.. not sure yet though.. I know lots of people who've been on it and there only side effects were dry mouth and a little dizziness, but after they started taking it at night, things got better!!

Hi Cheri,

That's wonderful news that your husband's tests all came back great. I know how relieving that is. I've been TTC since August '02, and started on Clomid 2 months ago. I'm waiting for AF (hopefully by tomorrow, so I can move on) to show since this past cycle was not successful. Then I'll start on my third and last cycle of 100mg of Clomid. My DH is fine also, and I've always had long and irregular cycles, so my RE hopes that a earlier and stronger ovulation will do the trick for me. We'll see...

Are you irregular? Will your doctor be monitoring you via ultrasounds while you're on Clomid. I find that very helpful. I have an ultrasound on CD12 of every Clomid cycle to see the size and number of follicles, as well as the thickness of my uterine lining.

So far, I've had few side effects from Clomid. It does make me VERY bloated for the week I'm taking it up to the time I ovulate (which has been on CD13 and CD15). Maybe some moodiness, but that could be due to the stress of TTC also. Please let me know if you have any questions once you start the Clomid.

Take care,

Gwen

Hi Gwen,

No, my doctor will not be monitoring me further at this time. She just said to try our the 50mg for 3 cycles and then if no bfp, then we would raise the dosage.

I have been VERY irregular in the past year (ranging from 32-107 days), but the last couple of months my cycles have been about 35 days. Maybe Im finally regulating? My doctor said that I am not "sustaining ovulation". I don't really know what that means - I should have asked.

Thanks for the information,

Cheri
