I'm out this month - but have a question

It started last night...the spotting. I knew it was bad news...sure enough, heavier spotting today, but not really a "flow" yet. Two questions:
1) I am missing a couple of temps on my chart, but I thought I O'ed on CD 22. However, if AF starts today, that's only 11 DPO, and last month it was 14. Could my O date be wrong on my chart? I thought the length of the luteal phase is not really supposed to fluctuate. I'm wondering if my O date was really day 19, as FF originally said it was. But my OPKs and CM contradicted this. Day 22 seemed to make more sense but now AF is so early. I'm really confused by it.
also - ****TMI ALERT****
2) Last night was just spotting. Today when I wipe after urinating (ugh sorry) I see a substantial amount of red blood (not brown, not pink) on the paper, but it's not really flowing yet. I'm wearing a pad but nothing is on it, just on the TP when I wipe. Should I consider this CD 1, or wait?
Thanks~!

Thanks ladies!! Yes, I too have heard that some women seem to be more fertile after the HSG. That gives me something to look forward to for this cycle coming up!!
The doctor (and actually its the NP that I've been dealing with, primarily) didn't require me to come in after the HSG to discuss it necessarily, but since I had to see her (the NP) to discuss the Clomid and get that prescription, she said I might as well do the HSG first. I think she wanted me to do the b/w and HSG before she started me on any meds, which I can understand. By the time I go there it will be too late to take it for this cycle, so I guess I'll have to wait until next cycle - late May/early June? Since I already ovulate, I do hope that Clomid can shorten my cycle. I don't have an outrageously long cycle but I feel like I ovulate late. Hopefully that can be corrected!!
Yes, I guess it is unusual that we started all this testing so early. I was seeing another doctor who was nice, but not thorough enough for me, so I switched to someone else. During my first visit I told him that I wanted to start TTC, and that basically I didn't want to waste any time. I had some nagging concern that something might possibly be wrong because of some cycles that I'd had, two within the past year or so, that were super-long. Now I know those were anovulatory cycles, but at the time I didn't know what was going on. Sure enough, that was probably a symptom of this PCOS. Anyway, I guess I can be very no-nonsense when I want to be, and he was extremely supportive. He had someone in office do the sonogram then and there, and sent me for the day 3 b/w. DH has a varicocele (sp??). He had a S/A before we got married, which was also normal, but since that was a couple of years ago the doc suggested the he repeat the S/A. And so here we are.....it seems that hubby is fine, and that I may or may not have some issues. I guess we'll see.
I know the standard is 6 months to a year but I didn't even leave room in the conversation for him to go there. I made it very clear that I was concerned about my sometimes wacky cycles and wanted to look into it. Now I'm pretty much dealing with the NP, who was the one to call me with the results of the sonogram. She said that my ovaries appeared to be "slightly cystic" and mentioned PCOS, which I'm still confused about. However, she also said that the fact that I get + OPKs, I do appear to ovulate and do get a fairly regular period (which for the most part I absolutely do) are all GREAT signs that my fertility is not really being affected much, if at all.
When I go there next time I have a list of questions for her re: the PCOS that I supposedly have.
Wish me luck!! LOL.
