I was wondering how long you can try too conceive before Dr.s normally consider you too have a fertility issue? Does it differ from person too person? I know there can be different reasons for infertility but I was wondering when most people would start looking into it? Not there yet just wondering. Thanks guys:>)

Jenny,

If it's your first child, then they want you to ttc around 12 months before you seek help.

For subsequent children, or if you are 35 or older (or close enough), then you should seek help after 6 months. It doesn't mean that you'll start treatment right away, but they will start checking things out......

Good luck! I hope it's your month!

I just saw my doctor and was told that you are only diagnosed with infertility if you have been trying to conceive for one year and have not gotten pregnant.

It really depends on the person and the doctor. I'm 24 and have been undergoing fertility testing since my loss in October. We have been trying since Feb'08. I have the testing because after my first lossin July
