Hi!
The instead cup was made for AF, as an alternative to pads and tampons. Its got a plastic ring and a thin plastic "cup" that is flexible and you insert it to where it molds to you and collects your menstrual flow. Now, for TTC, a lot of women are using them by inserting them after intercourse in order to keep the semen/sperm from coming out. The cup keeps the fluid close to the cervix and the idea is that it gives the sperm more of a chance to swim up where they are supposed to go and not come out. Also some women like them because they have to urinate after sex or can't lay down for some reason but don't want the semen to come right out when they get up. You can wear the cup up to 12 hours and then take it out and dispose of it. Try checking out www.softcup.com. You can buy them at Wal-Mart, Walgreens, and other places. It may or may not be right for you. You can get them and try one out, they aren't too expensive. There are a lot of stories out there about women getting pregnant using them. The product was, as I mentioned, made for your period but the company, last I read, is seeking a patent for them as a TTC aid now.
HTH!
