I had a very thorough medical exam this morning (totally not related to TTC but got some news) and as part of my exam, they did a baseline ultrasound on all my female organs. One of the ultrasounds was vaginal for a close up look at my cervix and ovaries. I asked the technician if she could see evidence that I'd ovulated as my temps have been up the last two days and I'm thinking I may have ovulated either CD 19 or CD 20 (I missed temping on the CD 20). I'm currently on CD 23 today. She said that she saw a ruptured follicle on the left ovary and that there was a mature follicle on the right looking ready to 'blast'. I felt a little silly but I asked if that meant it was possible that I could ovulate twice in one cycle a few days apart. She told me that she thought it was possible and that I should check with my doctor.
Is that even possible? I mean, I know fraternal twins are the result of 2 eggs being fertilized but can the eggs be released a few days apart and still be viable pregnancies?
Google is no help
. There are camps that claim both sides of issue. Yes it's possible. No it isn't.
Regardless, I'm planning on keeping the bed warm the next few days at a minimum... just thought I'd ask!
