Is it PMS?

I have been off BCP since June 25th, and had my last AF on the 28th. If I am to have AF it should be this weekend, my question is.... I have had terrible mood swings, just a wreck emotionally. Could this be PMS without being on BCP now. Last night I snapped at poor DH and then I wanted to cry then I became "excited" and jumped him. Poor thing is just as confused as me (but was happy about the overall outcome of the evening). Sorry if it's TMI but I'm confused. I was on BCP for over 6 years and was always regular and never any cramps. I have had some discomfort but that's about it. Thanks in advance for you help.

Hi Kelly,

I was on the pill for 8 years, and vividly remember the first month that I went off of it. I had terrible pms. I think that I spent 3 or 4 days either snapping at people or crying. The first month was bad, but it got back to normal by the next month or the month after. I think that your body is just trying to regulate itself and has to compensate for whatever it was that the pill did. I hope that it gets better for you soon.

Good Luck

Hi Kelly,

Last April, I stopped taking the pill after 6ish years. That first month was pretty WHACKED! I had horrible PMS symptoms shortly after O'ing, then nothing just before my period. Everything was unusual about that month, leading me to possibly think I was PG! I recommend just riding out the first month off BCP's and don't try to read much into anything. You should get on track pretty soon thereafter. All this said, I have hear of ladies getting PG after the first month off BCP.

Good luck and hang in there!
