Is it really that hard??

I know every pregnancy is different but I have never heard of so many people having so much trouble conceiving 2nd, 3rd, etc. children as I have since reading about it here! I just went off the pill about 3 days ago and know it can take awhile for my cycles to "return to normal" even though I conceived my first while I was on the pill. I feel so blessed to have been able to conceive so easily with my first and am praying for the same "luck" this time, and also for the ladies who are having trouble or it's just taking awhile.

But I'm wondering, does it get progressively more difficult to conceive with each child or something? It's making me soo nervous to hear so often here about it taking a year or more with people trying to conceive #2! I don't understand it and I haven't really talked to many people about how easily they conceived, other than reading about it here...I guess I'm just looking for some hope...I hope I haven't offended anyone. Good luck and prayers for us all! :)

TTC is as easy for some as it is hard for others. You don't hear fast success story's here a lot because chances are if you conceive right away your not looking for a place for support.

The reason I came hear is because most of my friends conceived right away and did not understand how I felt.

There is definately hope out there!

I hope you conceive #2 as easily as you did #1, and I've heard that conceiving within the first three months after stopping birth control is easier too than being off the pill much longer. ;) ;) It took me 19 months to conceive #1, and that wasn't any serious trying- if it happened great and if not, I was at a point in my career that we weren't going to quite yet worry about the why's yet. I think a lot of the women here are having difficulty ttc not just because of things going on with their bodies, but with DH's too. Knowing your cycle inside out is the key, I believe, to being able to conceive quickly, but DH has to be in top condition too, and that is what is so hard to know. Women will do just about everything to ttc, but getting their men in and tested just doesn't happen till the ttc thing has been going on and on and on- we all know how some men are- just not too concerned about their bodies in many more ways than just ttc. I love that many women come to this board having never charted or know how cm and cp can tell them their most fertile times and as soon as they learn that, they're pregnant within a cycle or two....so is it that hard........hmmmm? I think all women would hope not, but a few of us have learned that it can be and it makes the day the bfp shows all that more sweet, whether it be #1 or more. GL!!!!!! Huge ++++++++ PV's and (((((hugs)))))))) for you!!

LOLove, Connie (c10 of being on hold for medical reasons, to come back ttc #2 next cycle)

My sister-in-law got pregnant accidentally the first time (alcohol induced miscounting

:-) and within a couple of months of going off birth control for each of the second two. So yes, it can be very easy.

It took us about 6 months of trying and tracking the first time. And we're not quite that far yet this time :-) I was quite anxious the first time, but at least now I know it can happen and I just have to be more patient. I also know more about mucous and other ways to track my body, thanks to this board!

I conceived on C1 with DS (17 months) and now am on C6 TTC #2. I don't know how to answer your question, but I guess it can be that "hard". Each TTC experience is different, maybe I just got lucky the first time. I just keep telling myself there is a good reason why I'm not conceiving right away, and that God is in control and have faith.
