From what the nurse said, his count is VERY low and the next step is to go and see the urologist.. Has anyone been through this before?? I am somewhat confused about what good it will do?? Any advice would be appreciated...
Thanks In Advance,

I don't know the answer to your question but I remembered seeing this site, and it may help in your research. It discusses many different things. HTH and GL to you!!!

It's quite possible that your DH's low sperm count is due to an easily treated problem. One common occurrence is a "varicocele," which is essentially a varicose vein in the testicle region. It causes some "overheating" and a low sperm count. It's easily fixed in a surgery, and most patients go on to become parents. This is why your DH will need to see a urologist - they will be able to determine the source of the low sperm count and hopefully fix it.
Good luck to you!

I just wanted to let you know my DH went through all sorts of male factors issues at the urologist. His count went way up after he went there. Apparently he had a prostrate infection NO signs NO anything. They put him on antibiotics and the count soared. His motility also got better as did the morphology. It ended up giving us a better chance or ttc though we had to use an unmedicated IUI, some reason the guys still didn't swim great great......and needed a boost.
It was a humbling experience for DH but it's well worth it. I told him I was humbled at every check up and would be at birth etc. And that at least he didn't have an audience like I did!
Comment to karleydawn, that's great news that your DH improved dramatically w/meds. That gives me hope as this process is very daunting. You mentioned an unmedicated IUI, just curious how that is different from regular IUI. Thanks!
