Just stopped BC and need some advice.

I've been on birth control for several years and last month I started bleeding in the middle of a pack of bc. (sorry I don't know all the abbreviations on here). So I stopped taking it as this was my last pack I had anyway. I have been with my fiance for 3 years now. We are not necessarily trying to conceive because I am not working right now.... Florida is not doing well with the unemployment rate. Anyway enough babbling... like I said I stopped the birth control after an odd period a little over a month ago. I've had on and off sore nipples and breasts and on and off cramps like I'm going to start but I never do. How long does it usually take for your periods to start again after you stop bc?

Confused and annoyed... can anyone offer help?

How long did you bleed for after you stopped the pills?

It takes an average of 3 months for the hormones to get out of your system so your body can return to "normal"--whatever that is for you.

Given the circumstances under which you stopped though, you might want to take a home pregnancy test to make sure that pregnancy is not the cause of your symptoms.

after I quite my BC, I had my withdrawal bleeding 4 days after the pack quit and then it took 51 days for me to have a real period! I had a lot of the same symptoms that you described, cramps, nausea, soreness...

Defintely take a test to rule out pregnancy, but keep in mind that it can take a while for your body to start regulating your own hormones.

I had my first AF 26 days after I quit the pill. However, with my first baby,

Thanks for the reply. Its been a little over a month. I bled in the middle of a bcp pack and kept bleeding for about a week and a half after it started and i stopped the pills. haven't bled since then and like i said been about a month... maybe a few days or so more. i just keep feeling like its coming and it doesn't. i cramp but not major ones like i normally do during my period. I'll wait the 60 days and hope something happens. I just am curious as to when I might get it again so I can get back on track

Like the previous person (pp) said, I would definatly take a test to see if you might just be prego already. If not, then AF might be on her way.

When I quit the pill, I also quit mid pack, and AF came about 4 days later and lasted about 4 days. My next came about 33 days later, and I am currently at cycle day 27, but will end up lasting until day 37 since I o'd later than last time.

if you dont get AF within abotu 60days of your last, I would make a Dr. appt. and they can give you something to jump start it, to help get you back on track.

good luck !!!

I thought about that but.... it's mixed feelings and a sensitive subject because of my fiance. We're struggling with me not working... I'm 25 and he is 22. He makes great money for his age but we're still struggling. It's hard to vent to someone who doesn't understand how bad that I myself want to ttc but he isn't as into it as I am only for the simple fact that we're struggling... so he thinks it kind of dumb to take a pg test when i just came off bcp even though we don't use any other kind of protection or pull out method (which i know doesn't really work all that well).

You really need to take a test...if you are pregnant you need to start prenatal care right away!!!

AF just started. So I think things are going to be okay. He's just got the idea that we can't ttc concieve because we're not financially ready for a baby. One day he wants one and the next day he says we can't right now. So he just confuses me. He bought me these contraceptive films from the store but i have a tilted uterus and i can't get them in.. plus as stupid as it sounds i dont know how to tell where my cervix is, when i'm ovulating or any of that stuff.

THank you for talking to me. I don't really have anyone to discuss these kind of things with.
