The "is a line really a line" debate

Hi, ladies. Just thought I'd share this info since it seems pretty frequent that someone gets a line so faint that they aren't really sure if it's a line or not a line. For those who haven't read my weekend soap opera, in a nutshell, I tested yesterday and got a very faint line (but DH saw it, so it WAS there), but today temps are way down and the IPS/RPS are subsiding. Anyway, DH is a resident and asked his attending today what that teeny tiny little line means. She said (as most of you here already know) that ANY line is a line. Still, it's nice to hear it from a doc. In my case, I assume it's a chemical pregnancy, but I'm really okay with that because after 11 mos., I was really wondering if my girls and DH's guys knew what to do with each other! Now at least I know they do. ;) Anyway, just so you know, if it ever happens to you, ANY line is a line. GL to all!

Thank-you for that verification, Anne! I'm so sorry that you went through this turmoil on the weekend. I'm with you though......look at it possitively- you are one step closer! This will be it for you this cycle for sure! Has AF actually showed yet? Are you going to have a b/t to check the hcg level just in case?

Thanks, Tara. I know that you understand what it feels like. Still, as I said, I really feel better than I would if nothing at all had happened this cycle because I was starting to fear that my body was attacking DH's swimmers or something! As for the HCG, I don't think I'll go do it this time (no time, I've got 2 more exams to go). But if I get BFP next cycle, I'm gonna get in early and make sure that the doc knows that this happened so he can check progesterone. Thanks again!

Anne,

I know exactly what you mean -- i have had 2 cycles out of the last 11 in which I thought I was pg, was sure I saw a second line. DH saw it too in both instances. Next morning it was gone and the hag showed. But like you, I was actually glad (especially this last time) that I was getting pg at all. It's a tough road.

We'll get there honey. I'm rooting for you.
