Had lab done at 7dpo. Level came back at 8.5. I know that is low. The doc wasn't in and won't be in until next Tuesday, grrrr. Anyway--what happens next? Can I conceive. Is it still possible that I conceived this cycle. What will the doctor do?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

I am not sure if you can conceive with it that low. I don't know enough about prog to tell you, but I do know that the drs will probably put you on progesterone after you O or when you do get pregnant. They may also recommend taking viatmin B6 daily to help. Good luck.

You can go to the vitamin store anu buy progestrone cream. I had a miscarriage and had low progestrone I started using the cream and was pregnant in 2 months. As soon as I thought that I may have conceived I went to my ob/gyn b/c too much progestrone can cause problems too. But I liked the cream and my levels were fine during the pregnancy. Good Luck to you. +++++++++VIBES YOUR WAY

Hi Becky

Well, here is my 2 cents... A few years back when we were TTC#1, I got pg and m/c'd right away. They determined I had (and still have) a low progesterone problem. A few cycles later they decided to take the post-O levels and saw really low numbers (I don't know what they were though). I talked to my wonderful nurse whom I knew and trusted and she said there was probably no way I had conceived with numbers that low.

Well, my adorable little 2 year old son was the result of that low progesterone cycle. I took an HPT as soon as I thought it might show a reliable result, went in to the DR to verify the +, and began taking progesterone supplements that very day.

Some doctors will have you start the progesterone a few days after O "just in case". It can prolong AF if you are not PG but at least you know you are covered. That is where I am at now with TTC#2. I just recently had another m/c due to low progesterone. I am waiting for AF to show and then this will be my first cycle TTC again. My RE is having me take progesterone 2 days after O. We'll see, huh???

Well - the bottom line is - it is definitely possible you have conceived. Listen to your body and if you have a history of recurrent pg loss and feel like you may actually be pg -I'd push your DR into giving you an RX for progesterone just to be safe.

Good luck sweetie!

What vitamin store did you find the progesterone cream in? Is there one "kind" that's better than another? I have a very short LP--11 days or so for the past 5 months--so I took 60 mg B6 last cycle, and increased it to 100 mg this one. Is it ok to do both?

Thanks,

AJ

I believe I bought it from GNC it was a while back but if they don't have it i'm sure they will know where to get it. I would call mr Dr. or pharmacist about mixing it with B6 I didn't use B6 beyond my regular multi vitamin so i'm not really sure abouot that. Call whatever vitamin store you have by you I personally bought one with the highest concentration. I think it was something like $20.00 but you only use an extremely small amount daily so it lasts a long time. GOOD LUCK KEEP ME POSTED++++++++++++++TO YOU

It is possible that you conceived...a home pregnancy test at 26 days should be able to tell you. You need progesterone to build up the endometrium of the uterus in order to maintain a pregnancy. If you are not pregnant yet, I would start on a progesterone cream 10 to 12 days after your LMP and continue that. If your period starts, then you can stop and start the cycle again. Otherwise just stay on it. During pregnancy the lining of the uterus secretes about 300 mg. of progesterone a day so the body can handle quite a bit. I would not suggest coming off the progesterone once you are pregnant because you may miscarry. Progesterone is now being used for women who have pre-term labor with great success. You can buy progesterone cream at a health food store..make sure it is not just yam cream, but has progesterone. Use natural progesterone. Arbonne International sells a progesterone cream that comes in a metered dose and protects the cream from oxidation. It has 20 mg. per dose. This is the dosage generally recommended by John Lee, MD. and Christiane Northrup an OB/GYN. I sell the Arbonne Cream (consultant 10500838) or you can order it over the internet www.arbonne.com at the online store. Hope this info helps. Lizz welchcarre sullycom@earthlink.net
