Hi everyone, I am hoping that someone out there will have experience with my situation. I recently purchased an ovulation scope. I really like it and it is very easy to use but I have a big problem. I have been ferning for over 2 weeks. I am now on day 25 of my cycle and I am still basically fully ferning. This is my 1st month TTC since the birth of my DD who is 4 1/2 months old. (Yes, they would be close together but we are nuts and WAY in love with DD so we want another soon!)

I don't know what to think. I know that the ferning shows up based on hormone levels, but I don't know what this would mean. My chart on FF is totally messed up because my thermometer has gone nuts so they are saying that ovulation has not been detected. I am fairly certain that I should have O'd becasue of all this ferning in the ovulation scope. What do you think is going on? Do you think I have probably O'd by now? Could I be O-ing more than once this cycle? Any thoughts on this whole thing?

I'm very confused!

TIA,

Jen and Hallie (5/29)

If you want to post your chart, I'll give it a look. Ferning is not an indication of ovulation alone, it is just another way to confirm it. In your case, you may have ferning all during your cycle or you might just notice the ferning breaking up after you ovulate. I'm not sure, but I think the ferning is caused by estrogen, so maybe you have high estrogen. I don't know. If you O more than once, it is usually in a 24-hour period. However, your body can gear up to O and not actually make during the cycle. What is your CM doing?

I'll look for chart and response.
