Luteal Phase Question?

Good morning ladies!

Here's my question -- does short (<10 day) LP just make implantation a challenge or could you implant with short LP but then it impacts your ability to sustain? I had M/C last year and I have a shorter LP but the MC happened at 6/7 wks. I've never really had closure on "why" it happened but now that we're TTC of course I'm reanalyzing everything. I'm wondering whether I should feel relieved that I was able to implant the first time or be worried that the same thing will happen again? Would love some other opinions - thanks!

Jen, According to the tcoyf book a normal range is 10 to 16 days, if you want you could take b6 to lengthen it I take 100mg a day I wish you all the luck and hope that when you get a bfp this time that little one sticks like glue hope this has helped

I think the problem with luteal phase defect is that the short lp doesn't allow implantation. I think once implantation occurs lpd doesn't matter. Of course, I could be wrong. Good luck.

I had a 10 day LP and today I'm 10w1d preggers! A short LP usually means low progestrone, but I haven't taken any supplements so far. Not that I'm out of the woods. We saw the baby moving on an u/s at 8w6d so things are looking good so far, but we'll know for sure on November 5th when I'm 13w.

Anyway, a 10 day LP is very suitable for implantation and sustaining a pregnancy. I had a m/c a few years ago and it was in the back of my mind when we were TTC and is still with me today!!!

I would bring up your concern and see what your doctor says. Mine isn't very aggressive so she told me that 10 days is fine and didn't even order any testing. Yours might though!

Good Luck to you.

Congratulations! And thanks for sharing your story -- that gives me a lot of hope. I think I need to stop obsessing over the things I can't really control but of course that's easier said than done :-)

Anyway, sounds like things are progressing really well with you which is fantastic. Wishing you a H & H 8 more months!
