I'm sorry your experience wasn't so great. My RE specializes in "pain-free HSGs" so maybe that made a difference. With mine, it was done at an outpatient surgury clinic. I had TVs all around me, and the RE did my HSG. It took about two minutes, and he talked me through it step by step and showed me on the screen what he saw.
I thought all HSG results are given on the spot?! Maybe becuase your OB wasn't there he couldn't say?
I had spotting for a day after the HSG. It was like a super light period for a few hours, and then just spotting when I would wipe for the next 24 hours. My discharge papers said that soaking a pad every couple of hours was too much blood.
