Hi all, I'm new to this board, actually, I lurk from time to time, and I have a small question. As a present to my best friend (she's going through a rough time) I scheduled her and I a spa day, in that package there is a massage. I remembered from when I was pregnant with my tot that pregnant women shouldn't get massages, something about some chemicals and hormones being released from your body. My hubby and I have been trying to concieve for two months now, and so, of course, there is a possiblity that I could be pregnant now, although it's too soon to test, is a massage safe at this point?

Thank you!!!

I just worked with a woman who specializes in pg massage. She says that it's great for pg women because it can relieve so much tension. I think that certain massage therapists are very careful with pg women, and I don't think that you have the same kind of massage a non-pg woman would get, but I think that it would be safe.

Good Luck

Do you think that I should tell them that I MIGHT be pregnant, and then they would change the style??? I'm probably worrying over nothing though, and I could really really use the massage

I think that if you just found out that you were pg, or if you ended up having a bfp in a few days you would be fine having a massage just like you normally would. I think that if it makes you feel more comfortable you could tell them that there is a chance that you might be pg, and see if they are concerned about it. I say go for the massage, I really wouldn't think that there is anything that they could do to hurt anything this early.
