Missed our opportunity this cycle - argg

I'm so frustrated I could SCREAM!!!!!!!!

This was "official" cycle #3, and it was a total waste!!! This was also my first month using the CBEFM, borrowed from a friend (I cleaned it carefully and wiped the memory). I was also still temping and using OPKs, and was very interested to see if the OPKs and CBEFM were in agreement.

This past week has been crazy busy and stressful for myself and DH, and we really hadn't done any BDing. OK, we hadn't BDed at all. I mean AT ALL. None. I kept using the CBEFM every morning like it says to, and was surprised to see that it gave me a "peak" reading on CD 15, because last cycle I didn't get a + OPK until day 19, and day 18 the month before that. I figured I still had time....but that night, I got a + OPK. I started freaking out that we hadn't done it, but then tried to calm down, as last month I had 3 + OPKS before I finally O'ed. But alas, tonight, the evening of day 16, I just got a neg. OPK - 24 hours later!

I can't believe I got my surge so early and it came and went so fast!!! I'm already feeling the tender breasts, so I think that I already ovulated.

Lesson learned: make more time for BDing, and BD on a regular basis, not just when I *think* I should be approaching O. Apparently, my body does what it wants!!!

I'm SO UPSET!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for reading.

Sorry! That would be frustrating...the whole process though of all the things that have to be just perfect is amazing that anyone gets pregnant. As cliche as it sounds...it really is a miracle!

good luck next month!

From your temps it doesn't look like you Oed yet.

You don't have a temp rise yet, so there's still time. Like the PP said, it can take up to 48 hours after the peak for you to O. And remember, an egg lives for 12-24 hours, plus it only takes about 15 minutes for sperm to reach the egg after you BD (so lay down for a while afterwards!). Even if you O'd today you still have a pretty good chance. Grab your DH and go

Oh, I wish I would have read these responses last night...instead of this morning, after a huge temp rise. I'm pretty sure I O'ed already.

I was kinda thinking the same thing, like....maybe we have a chance tonight! But honestly, I'm getting frustrated with the pressure of the whole thing, and decided to cut my losses this cycle and try to relax and think about something else. Once I get my CHs I'm going to stop temping for the rest of my cycle (b/c what's the point?) and I'm going to actually try to not obsess over it until next time. I'm looking forward to taking a mental break from this for a couple of weeks.

So I guess you could say that after missing most of our opportunities, we decided to just skip this month altogether. I am still in shock that it happened so early and unexpectedly. That really woke me up and made me realize that I have to be more "prepared". We also had been stressed and putting everything else first, and if we'd made our own intimacy a priority, maybe we'd have a better chance this month. Major lesson learned.

Sigh. On to the next cycle.

I'm so sorry you missed your chance this cycle and I'm sorry that you are so frustrated.
