My thermometer is driving me BATTY!!

I don't know if it needs a new battery or if it's just on strike or what! I noticed something odd happening yesterday...when I took my temp and looked at it right afterwards, it was 98.48. Then, when I actually got out of bed 10 minutes later or so, I turned on my thermometer to double-check and the saved temp was 97.89!! So, I thought it was just me, being sleep-deprived because of our new puppy.

So this morning, I decided to pay a little more attention. When I took my temp and looked at it right away, it was 99.09...so I turned it off and back on right then, and the saved temp was 98.48! What is going on?? Which temps should I use - the first ones or the saved ones? And what if this has been messing with my temps this whole cycle? GRRR!! Anyone ever had this issue? Please Help!!

My thermoeter is going crazy as well. It never saved my last temp like it was suppose to so I just try very hard to remember when I go back to sleep (hubby gets it ready for me every mornign before he leaves and then i go back to sleep). This morning, after 5 minutes of no beeping i took it out and it was off. I did it again and after 2 minutes it went off as well, i think the battery may be going, good timing when i need it most right around my ovulation time. What brand do you use? I have the CVS brand thats $10. I'm scared to switch thermoters since im half way through my cycle, oh this stinks, sorry had to vent!

You should be using the temp it shows when it beeps and dont rely on the saved ones since it seems they are all a lil screwy.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply! I'm not sure what brand my thermometer is...I bought it online from a website I heard about here on the board. I wonder if it would be cheaper and less hassle to buy a new battery or to just buy a whole new thermometer? Anyway, sorry you're having issues, too! Hope we can both get our thermometers back in line soon! :)

Hi ADC,

That is too wacky, do you need to replace the batteries, or is it one of the mercury kind? I think your chart looks good either way. I think that the heat is on and that is a great sign!
