Okay, well, the best idea would be to ask your dr. what he means when he says day 5. In case it's different from normal charting.

But for the rest of us who are charting our bbt's & trying to get pg, day 1 is the first day of your period. If you are still bleeding after 3 weeks, your dr. needs to be more clear on his instructions. Call him (or the nurse) back and ask if you're supposed to wait til the bleeding stops & you get another period and THEN start charting, or what.

Sign up on fertilityfriend.com to keep track of your basal body temperature online. It makes it way easier! You can also print your chart out to show to your dr. Anyway, it's free to sign up ... you *can* pay if you want their VIP service, but you don't have to have that to use the charting system. Anyway, make sure you have a DIGITAL basal body thermometer (any drug store should have it), and set your alarm for the same time each morning to take your temperature. Then you record that temperature on your chart. If you use fertilityfriend, it'll also allow you to keep track of any bleeding, pain, and other ovulation signs. It might even give you a place to record any meds that you're on (I'm not sure about that one, since I'm not on any meds at this point).

Anyway, check out fertilityfriend, and definitely call your dr.'s office back and ask for clearer instructions. I'd say it'd be pretty hard to figure out when to start the pills if you're still bleeding (I mean, does the dr. still consider it part of your period or what?) ... so please get some more of his input.

I hope you can get this cleared up soon ... I know you must be frustrated by now! Hang in there ... things will get better! And once you start charting, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask -- we have LOTS of charters here!

Best of luck to you!

:)

Hi Ashley,

i'll try to help some,

i'm no Dr. but something similar happen to me.

Don't take the clomid yet wait until you stop bleeding then wait for a new cycle.

Something doesn't sound right and you should get your hormones check and a ultra sound to see if you have a cyst or something.

The last time I saw Af for more then 8 days my DR. had me take estrogen pill to stop the bleeding. After i took the estrogen pill i started estrogen and Provera to bring back Af then i started my O med(injectables for me)

So that's my advice ... Most important get checked out Please
