Need some advice -- bloodwork back

I got my results back from the bloodwork/SA. Good news is that my DH has incredible sperm. Bad news is that my LH is too high for CD 3. Does this make me a Clomid candidate? If not, what does it mean? The frustrating thing is that I am going away for 2 weeks so I can't see the doctor until the 14th of April, which pretty much obliterates my chances for this month, not to mention getting any answers about what is wrong with me.

The nurse gave me the results and told me that my DH was "fine" but that the doctor wanted to make an appointment with me b/c he thought something was wrong with my ovulation. I asked if I could come in and get a copy of the results and she said yes. So I have them here with me now -- FSH 9.9; LH 9.3; TSH 3.704. Can anyone help me interpret these numbers? From what little I can tell, the LH is high but the others are fine.

I am doing fine. I was a little surprised to hear her say over the phone that my results were not great, but otherwise I am not upset. I am mostly grateful that my DH's numbers were so great (110 million! 95% motility! woo hoo!!)

I would really really love some input here if you can find me in the chaos of this board!

Crystal,

I have tried a Google search and mostly stuff about PCOS comes up. From what I can tell, I don't have any of the other symptoms of that so I'm not going to borrow that trouble for the time being. The doctor is only in on Monday and Wednesday so maybe I will call then and see if he will speak with me on the phone.

I'm scared!

Thanks so much for your support.

Thanks, E. As always, you know just what to say. I am feeling a little worse about things today but I guess that is to be expected. I think I will feel better again tomorrow. I mostly just dislike preparing for a trip -- I haven't started packing yet and we leave in 4 hours!

My DH was excited about his results, I could tell, but he wouldn't indulge in any of it. It was like he was in denial -- he kept saying the tests could be wrong and that it could be his "fault" after all. We actually fought about it! Stress, I guess.

Thanks for the reassuring. The timing of this trip is not great, but we *have* to leave so there isn't much sense in bemoaning it.

Hope AF isn't being too mean.

Thanks Robyn -- I know what you mean. I knew something was wrong anyway, in my heart -- now I can face it and figure out our options.

I hope you are doing alright with your waiting -- it stinks, doesn't it?!?

Thanks again,

Oh Beth, I hope you are right. I read a bunch of stuff last night that really didn't he;p things. Now I am not so sure that my 1st number (FSH) is okay either. I'm teetering on the edge of "not okay" in terms of the level. I think it indicates my ovaries are weak. This article said there is not much you can to to fix that! But i'm hoping that they were talking about people with a higher number than mine. Oh, the waiting! Maybe the doctor will speak with me on the phone... who knows.

Beth, hugs to you to. I hope that you get your BFP this month and don't need to get a work up... i'm glad i did it, but it's sort of scary. It's like that clock just got A LOT louder!

HUGS! Thanks so much for your comforting post.

Michelle,

You are right -- DH did do some strutting last night! He's cute but I think he was mostly just nervous for me. He doesn't know any more than I do about what this all means and he's a little scared. I wish I had some answers -- it is gonna be a long 2 weeks.

Thanks again -- your support means a lot.

Thanks, Connie. I am not feeling so good about things this morning. I'm nervous and confused and a little irriatated that the circumstances are such that I'm going to have to wait so long.

Thanks for all the hugs. I need 'em!

I'm glad to hear your DH's results are so wonderful. I am sorry you got the news you did w/o an explaination of what it means though. Is there a way to search Google or something? Maybe have the doctor (or another doctor in the same practice) call you back? I'm sure they have an idea on how to correct your numbers. Would be nice for them to share at least something with you. I hope you get an answer soon. Best wishes to you!

Jenny, I'm sorry about the LH numbers. Like the others I don't know what it means. I'm sorry you won't be able to get in till after you get back. I'll bet that they'll be able to help you, though. Hang in there!

I can picture that you'll be saying all sorts of cute and sweet things to your DH with his very glorious essence.

Have a good trip and take care.

No idea on the numbers... (m)

Just hugs to you for the whole thing. News is good, sometimes even when it isn't perfect. At least there's an answer of some kind. Good luck this cycle, even if you do think you're out!

((((HUGS))))) So sorry to hear that your numbers weren't so hot. The good thing is your numbers are easier to fix than if your DHs were low. I can't give you any particulars on what the nubmers mean, but I wish you the best of luck. Try not to stress about having to wait. At least you are doing something . . . we still have not decided whether to call an RE or not. I feel like I need to wait until DH is totally on board before we get into an stressful and expensive RE workup. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
