OK, somehow managed to get an appointment with a specialist in the women's hospital. My regular pcp referred me as she has no idea about cycles and ttc. So, I went and talked to the lady. She said normally I couldn't be classified let alone seen by a specialist until one year of TTC and no luck but because my periods are so irregular she'll see me up to a certain point. We went through my history and did some blood work, talked about getting DH into to do a SA and then possibly and HSG. After all that is done and all the results are back she can determine wheher she can help (I'm thinking clomid) or if she has to refer me to a infertility specialist to talk about IVF or something like that. That's where I am right now with her.

I just got off the phone with the nurse there and PG test came back negative. She had already written me a Px for provera to induce AF :( Now, I talked to the nurse and she said pg test came back BFN, no if's and's or but's about it. IF I BD and concieved 8 days ago and did not implant yet, will the blood test still show a pg+? I don't want to start the provera until I know for 100% that I won't be flushing out a good BFP. I know I'm grabbing at straws but I don't have anything else to do. Plus I don't want to do the HSG if I don't have to.

Please if anyone knows I would love to know wether I should wait or not to start the provera.

TIA - sunny

PS - here's my chart I know it doesn't look good :(

A side note to that aswell, I've been cramping on and off for 4 days now and my nipples (sorry TMI) have been super hyper sensitive! Like the shower hurts them! I'm so confused and frustrated. Last night after work Iwas so tired and I feel so run down, I know many pg women feel this during early stages but this is unusual for me, do you think it's just stress and upset?

I am no expert on the subject but if there was any hope i would be pregnant (if you're only 8DPO might be too early for even blood test, who knows!) there is NO way I would start on a drug. Why don't you just wait it out and take another HPT down the line before considering going on the drugs just yet.

Sorry I could not be of much help. All I know is that I would NOT take the risk.

Sunny, as long as there is no hurry to start the provera, I would go ahead and wait a few days, then take a pregnancy test. I'm hoping that with your symptoms it will come back a BFP! I'm having the same symptoms as you right now-super sensitive nips and feeling tired, but I have no idea if it means anything. I'm only 5dpo, so who knows. Good luck!

Believe you me, I don't want to screw anything up here! I just wanted someone to say they would wait too! The DR wants me to start it right away, because in her words "the sooner we get the ball rolling the sooner we could have a bun in the oven"!

I was planning on waiting until this time next week, that would put me over 14 since we BD and might of C. Why does it have to be SO damn difficult?

Thank you for your support though - I needed it!

HUGS and BFP vibes to you - and everyone else!

Sunny,

I was in the same place as you last month and I waited it out. I didn't even call the doc to get the script or blood test....I looked at chart and thought that I could've O'd and figured 2 weeks later, I'd get a BFP or AF.....I got AF. *sigh* But at least I don't have to wonder if I might have been PG. So I totally understand and support your decision to wait a week. HUGS

HI, Sunny,

It does sound like you are going through some of the same stuff I did. I have always been irregular. I'd have AF every month for a couple months, and then not for three or four. I was on BCP for about five years to regulate it, and when I went off last December, I never O'd or got AF until it was induced by Provera in August.

Here's what my doc did--hormone blood tests, which came back normal according to her. She sent me to an RE who interpreted the same results as indicating a high LH to FSH ratio, which is indicative of PCOS. The RE then had DH give an SA, did an ultrasound on me and then more blood tests for cholesterol, glucose, insulin. The SA and blood tests were normal and the ultrasound also indicated PCOS (small cysts on my ovaries). So she is giving me Provera and then Clomid.

The most common cause of irregularity is PCOS, so I would definitely ask your doctor about it even if you have no other visible symptoms of PCOS (I don't). Thyroid issues can also cause a problem. And I'm sure there are other things out there that can cause irregular AF.

Hope your doc can give you the help you need and get you Oing regularly. GL!

I guess I should move down to SOI and see what's going on down there... our histories sound identicle. Are you sure you're not me? LOL! I did mention PCOS and the DR said jokingly "Oh, so you went to medical school too huh?". It was maybe either her way of putting me at ease or in my place as the patient! I guess I'll wait to hear from her on the blood work (to see the levels of everything to make sure they are normal) and then start the provera, I'm going to have DH schedule his SA asap to move things along quicker if need be.

THANKS so much for all your support - HUGS AND BFP! sunny :)
