Nervous about infertility but ttc

Hello I am new to this board and ivillage. I decided to join to be able to speak with others who may be going through what I am or at least for good ears to listen. I am nervous because me and DH recently decided to TTC for our second child. We planned to start in Nov but unfortunately have hit an odd bump in the road. I delivered our first child my son on 11/18/10 so its been one yr since delivery. I have had a very regular menstruation since I stopped breastfeeding six months after he was born. Recently my cycle has stopped and I am not sure why. I have gone to the dr and am now waiting on tests to see if I am still ovulating and just not shedding or if my thyroid antibodies are off. My last cycle was sept 30 so its quite concerning for me to not have had a cycle since. I am hoping we can find an explanation through either the blood work or pap and hoping I can get back on track to having baby number two!! I am hoping that we have a chance to conceive by Feb. but unfortunately I don't know how long this could take with just me not having cycles. I am wondering if anyone else has spontaneously stopped having a cycle or two and how long it took to regulate? Or if anyone has any suggestions in general. Thanks for listening.

Welcome to the board! These girls are a great support system. I hope your stay is short and sweet:) It seems like you are on the right road by talking with your doctor about testing. The test should show something. Have you had and spotting at at all since sept 30th? I have a month every once in a while where I spot for a day or two, then it stops. They are called annovulatory cycles where I failed to ovulate. When you were having regular cycles, how long were they?

Hello,

I have honestly have had no spotting at all which is why in the beginning I thought I might be pregnant but blood tests have proven that is not the case. When I was having regular cycles they were 28 to 29 days long with my charting. I was honestly very regular which was what I was before pregnancy too. It just seemed abnormal to me that things would all of a sudden stop out of the blue. I an anxiously waiting to get my results back.

Welcome! Hopefully you can make ds a big brother very soon :) Please let us know how your tests go -it's always interesting to hear what "roadblocks" mother nature puts in our way & how to fix them. Good on you for being proactive & getting it checked out.

Oh & congrats on the spotting!! Bring on af & let the games begin ;)

Thank you very much. Its my first time using ivillage or a forum for that matter and it seems that everyone is very helpful and supportive. I will definitely keep everyone up to date when I get my results back. I expect to get them all in by mid week and I can let you know what they find.
