New and Oh so Confused

Okay Girls, I'm new here and a bit confused on this whole ttc world. I'm 34, healthy and lucky enough to already have 5 yummy children. My Dh and I would like to add just one more to the mix and I can call it a day. So, this is my first cycle ttc and I am getting such different dates as to when I'm ready to go. All these online ovulation calculators are giving me such different dates, that I'm having to get frisky every night! As much as Dh is my little Lovecat, it would be nice to not have to feel like we HAVE to every night. My cycles are pretty regular. Just for you way experienced girls, my cycles are on average, 30 days apart. I have been known to go 29 and up to 31. I got AF on Dec. 23 and Dh and I got busy the first of Jan. through the sixth. Took two days off and now am wondering if I should make one last go of it tonight or did I miss the boat? Those dang calculators are mixing me all sorts of up. I know I should probably start taking my temp and charting next month but it seems so intense for only my first month trying.

Hi Skye!

I am new to this world as well. Trying for my first after a miscarriage back in August at 12 weeks. I wanted to reply to you because you made me laugh. I have a lot to learn as well ;) And the calendars are confusing to me as well. We've been going at it since Jan. 1st and last night said - ok let's take a break...which has never been uttered by my husband before. ha ha! I'm hoping you'll get some good replies to your post that I can use as well.

Hi Skye -

I am new at the TTC thing too. I average 30 day cycles too but I have used First Response ovulation kits in both November and December. Both months I have ovulating approx. CD20. Which seems really late especially when I do the calculators online and they say about 6 days earlier then what the sticks have been reading. So we are going with my girlfriend's advise this month and BD every other day! :)

Good luck!

Anna

Silly question but with an Opk, you sort of have a very very short time to bed up right? You get a plus sign and then you have to Bd within 24 hours? Ahhhh... In my youth, getting pregnant didn't seem too tough:) Last night my Dh looked at me and said, "Can we just cuddle instead?" I think all this pressure is getting to us:)

I'm so sorry for your loss. That sucks! I went through that as well. Not as far along but all the same it sucks. On a happy note, two weeks later, I ended up pregnant with my youngest who is now 16 months. Our bodies are freaky and amazing at the same time. Speaking of bodies, I really really do not want to start the whole checking my Cm and stuff:)! I know it sounds bad but I just hope it does not come to that. If the basics are confusing me, what will that do to me?

Okay, so if you have a regular 30 day cycle, and AF started Dec 23, you would be due for another AF on Jan. 21.

Okay Thanks. I guess a glass of wine and one more go at it couldn't hurt:) It's just amazing that you women have all this info figured out! I guess next month I will just have to learn the whole charting thing. Thank god for you experienced girls out there. Thanks for the input. Believe me, I now keep a note pad next to me when I visit here.(LOL) And to think of all the time I spent trying not to get pregnant:)

You would not believe all the info that these ladies know about their bodies!

Your right, you women who are going through this are amazing. Let me ask you this though, does it get easier each month of trying? Are you by this point pretty sure of your body and it's timing? Even in my early pursuit, I'm becoming slightly obsessed with all of this.(LOL) More to the point, how do you not drive yourself and your honey crazy? My Dh is totally on board, but he cringes when I have to say that I might have to learn about Cm:) And I totally understand when you all use the 2ww! I need to relax already:) Good Luck to you as well.
