I sleep with my BBT under my pillow and when my alarm goes off, it shove it in my mouth and walk the couple steps to my alarm and turn it off and sit there for the few seconds it takes for my temp to come out.

Could you set another alarm to go off a couple of minutes before your real alarm to temp and then get up?

I have been temping for years. at first i stressed about that - but by now i know that i personally can have a bad night sleep, get up, start a load of laundry, pee, temp, and it will be about the same as if i temped right away. in my opinion, getting up to cross the room and then temp will NOT make a huge difference. Depends on the person tho i guess, so why dont you temp before the alarm, then after you get up, and see if it is different. If it is the same or very close, than just temmp after rising from then on. does your therm register hundredths? even better. More leeway.

i am lucky that my Temps shift a LOT after i ovulate, so a tenth of a degree wont make much difference anyway from day to day.. most people's temps do shift a lot after ovulation, i am not unique in this. but SOME people have such a slight shift, that they have to temp very carefully. You'll know after you temp for one cycle, what your typical temps are, and how much you can play around with temping.

I felt so incompetent the first day I tried to take my temp b/c I raced over to the alarm in an effort to get back under the covers as fast as possible and as I laid there I was thinking about how much exertion it was to race and how I probably affected it more by not just calmly walking over to it.

I can't seem to take my temp at the same time every day, like FF prefers, so my temps are marked with the "hollow" circle sometimes. I still temp after 4-6 hours of sleep, so they should count, regardless of the time of day, right? Like, if I temp at 5:30 a.m. after 4 hours of sleep or at 4:30 a.m. after 6 hours of sleep, would it really make much of a difference?

Thanks for bringing up this question!!
