Hey yall

I'm new to the board. I was on bc for 4 years and I've been off for 5 mnths now. I'm ttc now and I was wondering if it will take me longer since I was on bc for that long? I'm really excited but every month when I start I feel a little disappointed.

Welcome to the board! I have no personal experince with the BC issue but I think it can take a little longer. Are you charting you temps and or cervical fluid? That can speed things up for you by making sure you are BD during your fertile time. There is another discusion on today about coming off BCP, I would check that out. Anyway, we are glad you are here and good luck to you!

GM Tif, welcome!!!!!!! I'm sorry BCP weren't for me..so I don't know how being on them for so long may affect ttc, but I sure hope you get that BFP here real soon! I agree with Joan, if you're not charting BBT's and cervical position and mucous, those are a great way to help you hit the BD mark more perfectly. GL!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope your stay here is very short and sweet! LOLove, Connie (((((((HUGS))))))))

Hi Tif!

I took BCP's for 4-5 years and when I went off a few months ago I starting charting immediately. My cycle was fine - it lasted 28 days and I O'd on CD16. My Dr told me that it's different for every women and while I shouldn't get pregnant to first month off BCP, it really wouldn't be a huge deal if you did. I am now on CD21 and am 5dpo. Hopefully I'll get some good news this month!

Good luck to you!!
