New to Board...Looking for Support

Hi all. I've been having something on my mind for awhile now and I just need some advice. I'm 21, SO is 26. We've been together for over a year and recently decided that I was going to go off BC and we would just see what happens. I'm in my junior year of college, I work full time and go to school at night full time. SO also has a stable full time job. I'm ready to have a baby and I know SO is too. Do you think it's selfish of me to want to have a baby while I'm still in school? I've thought about it alot and weighed all the possibilities and I still think that we are ready. But I need some opinions. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Thanks for all your help.

I'm new to the boards, too. I am in a similiar situation. I'm in school and TTC #1. The way I see it, I can "slow down" and take the time to be at home with a new baby while I'm in school much more easily than I could working full time. My schedule is a lot more flexible as a student and I can do a lot of work at home. You might be able to say the same, though I would suggest dropping the full time night work, especially if DH has a stable job. Of course, at the rate I'm going I'll be out of school before I get pg! GL to you!

Hello, and welcome to the board. Your post hits home with me. I’m 23 and in my second year of college. I don’t think it’s selfish to want to have kids before you finish school. School hours are more flexible then job hours. Also if you and your SO are ready then go for it. It’s a personal decision to have kids. Good luck to you!
