New here, HPT confusion!

I have never posted here before, but I hope someone here will have some advice on this situation because it has me very confused right now. I was due to start my period yesterday and my period is always right on time, if not a few days early. So I missed my period, and I knew it was a possibility that I was pregnant because my husband left on deployment a couple weeks ago and we did not use any birth control the week or so before he left. I went to the drug store and got a pack of First Response pregnancy tests. I took one yesterday and got a VERY faint positive line, so I waited another day (this morning) and used the first morning urine to take the 2nd test since I know the hormones are stronger then. I got another extremely faint positive line, even a little more faint than yesterday's line, even. My period is still not here, so I decided to go get the Clear Blue Digital tests since they straight out say "pregnant" or "not pregnant" and I heard they were more reliable. I took one of those as soon as I got back from the store, around noon today, and it said "pregnant." I told my best friend and she asked me if I took a second digital test since the first two First Responses were rather inconclusive, and I hadn't so I decided to take another one since they came 3 to a pack. Well I just took the second test and now it says "not pregnant." The same test just said "pregnant" 8 hours ago! I really cannot figure this out, I am following all the directions correctly, but neither of the tests seem to really be conclusive. I know I need to just go to my doctor's office for a test, but right now its obviously too late for that and I would really like to know something so I can tell my husband, I hate not knowing what is going on! Has anyone had any similar experiences or know why this could be happening and getting two different responses on the same test on the same day?

3 positives sounds to me like you are pregnant!
My guess is that you are very early. The first digital test showed positive because you used it when you had more concentrated urine. I'd get some more test and use first morning urine. If you feel like you have to find out tonight then wait as long as you can without peeing so that your urine can become more concentrated.

Best of luck for whichever outcome you'd rather have!

I just got back from the doctor's office, they did a blood test and while I was in the room waiting for the results, I heard the nurses talking and I heard one say "is it negative?" and then I got a little sad, but then I heard another one say "I can't tell, I've already run it twice" so then the doctor comes in to talk to me and asks me again about the tests I took at home, and I told him again about the faint positive lines and then the one digital test that said "pregnant" and then one that said "not pregnant" and he told me that the blood test was inconclusive, too! He said he also got a faint positive, so he would say that I am pregnant so not to drink and to start taking a prenatal vitamin, but he sent my blood away for the hcg levels to be tested to be sure. Then he said if that is inconclusive, I'll have to get an ultra sound to be sure. But now I am scared that there might be something wrong with the pregnancy if the hcg levels are that low? Its not like I am testing before a missed period, my period is three days late now. Ahhh, I just want to know for sure!

I had a similar experience when I found out I was preggo with my first...two rounds of inconclusive bloodwork a few days apart, and then the following week it came back positive. I must have POAS 12 times during the time before the pos. blood test, all BFN. The very next morning, I POAS and it was super pos. Go figure!

I would have to agree with your doc that you probably are and just had a very recent implantation & need time for your levels to increase. Good luck!
