Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted very much at all but am ALWAYS lurking and find everyone's comments so helpful. I am 33 and DH is 34 and this is our 4th cycle TTC for #2
My question is about my luteal phase which is usually short at between 10-12 days.
Yesterday at 10DPO I had some very light pink CM right when I woke up which I have had before in the last few months between 1-3 days before my period begins. In the last 24 hrs since then, I have only had creamy to almost egg white CM. But once I have any spotting, does that mean my luteal phase is over or is it not over until red blood AF starts? Also, once I spot like that, am I out for sure? Or is it possible to start to spot as if AF is coming but then the egg implants or to start and then stop spotting and actually be pg? It is driving me crazy!
I am so disappointed at the spotting that I know I am reaching for straws here but just want to know if I should FULLY give up all hope at the first spotting or not.
Is an LP at 10 or 11 days to short to get pg? I am currently taking B6 and have been for a while to help lengthen it.
Thanks for any help from anyone!!
Dabney

HI
Not sure about the pink..could be a number of things but since you haven't had anymore I wouldn't count that as CD1 so no, your lp is not over.
As for short lp's and getting pg..when I was trying for #2 my lp was btn 9-11 days but mostly 10 days and I got pg in three months. GL!
I agree you're not "out" yet because of that tiny bit of spotting.
Thanks so much to both of you for your responses. I really appreciate them! So far today I still have nothing else. Tomorrow morning would be 12 DPO which would be a record for me of late. My doctor did blood work on CD3 this month and said all looked normal so not to worry about spotting but I am curious what you mean when you say that the pink could be any number of things.
Anyway, still waiting but trying not to get my hopes up because double disappointment (both at the spotting and then again when AF arrives if I was hoping that the spotting was IB) is too much!
Thanks again!!
Dabney
I just read in the Taking Charge of Your Fertility book that some women do have creamy or even EWCM just before AF comes, something about the drop in progesterone. I agree with the others though that spotting does not mean your LP is over. It's not over till the first day of actual red flow. I have a short LP too and usually start spotting at 5 or 6 DPO and don't stop until AF shows at around 10 or 11 DPO.
On a brighter note, just because you've started spotting does not mean you're out! When I got pregnant with my first, I started spotting at 6 DPO and that turned into full bleeding for several days---I thought I had AF. It turned out I had conceived and somehow she managed to implant and stick in spite of all that. So don't give up hope!!
GL!
