Hi Jen and welcome!! The only thing I've heard about ttc and sports is that you do not want to change exercise patterns dramatically, so I doubt there's any harm at all in your playing tennis- if that's what you like to do- go for it! I really hope your stay here is short and sweet!! Have you tried charting your basal body temperature (bbt), cervix position (cp) and cervical mucous (cm)? These are all really great things to do to help you find your most fertile window for ttc. If not you might want to think about it, since you have been ttc for three months now already. Just let me know and I'll be happy to get you some great info on how to get started. Huge ((((((((Hugs)))))))))) LOLove, Connie

Hi, Jen! Welcome to the board! I'm sure you'll feel at home here since you are one of MANY Jens on the board!LOL! I agree with Connie- whatever you are doing now on a regular basis keep up with it. My Dr said the same thing.

You can click on the FAQ link at the top of the board and that will bring you to our TTC board website~ it's a good place to start out.

GL to you and I hope your stay is short and sweet!

thanks, i was actually letting the nature take its course and had not really got into CM, CP, and BBT. i was just trying to take one step at a time. but i feel that since its already 3 months , i would want to really know all of this from scratch(i have really no idea :-(..) except for some info which i have by going throught the message boards. also , im planning on getting a OPK. is the OPK for a one time use only or can be used more than once. also which brand is good. which did everyone use and which worked the best

and please explain how you used it.

thanks

when I conceived my son I was extremely active. Tae bo and rollerblading were almost daily, lifted moderately and did precor at the gym, played tennis and rode my bike occasionally. We never got around to trying, he was our surprise baby. I don't think its the exercise unless you are exercising to excess so that it affects your cycles.

Once (fingers crossed) you do conceive, I would check with your dr. about continuing to play, though. I was told to avoid certain activities due to balance issues. For some reason tennis comes to mind, I have no idea why.

I know what you mean - I tried to let nature take its course at first, too. Hopefully that will work out for you - all this charting and testing just kind of takes the romance out of things.

OPKs are for one-time use only. Each box generally contains 5-7 test sticks. They work similar to a HPT - you just pee on the stick and wait to see your result line so you can compare it with the control line. The box will come with detailed instructions for you. I've been buying Clearblue Easy, because they come 7 to a box (vs. 5), so it's a little cheaper. If you're at this a long time, you could try buying a fertility monitor - that's a $100-$150 monitor that you use ongoing. You do have to buy test stips for it; about $30-50 for something like 60 strips?

For charting, I've been learning a lot, but I'm not near the expert some of the women on these boards are. Try reading the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" (you've probably seen the acronym "TCOYF" - that's this book). Also, try reading the fertility section of ivillage... I've learned a lot from the various articles on this site.

Good luck, and I hope your "stay" on this board is short and sweet!
