Newbie and charting question!

Hello ladies! My name is Dreea and I'm 22, and my husband is 30. I'll be taking my last BCP this Saturday, and trying to conceive sometime from February on. I was wondering, how long, on average, does it take to get pregnant after stopping BCP (I was on them for 4 yrs). And when charting starts, when do you actually start counting your days? From the day your period starts, or from the day that it ends? Thanks for you all's help!!

I'm not sure how long on average it takes to conceive after being off BCP. "They" say it often takes about 3 cycles to have regular cycles again, but it doesn't always work that way!
When I TTC my dd, I'd been on BCP for 14 years straight. I went off of them, ovulated three weeks later, and conceived that cycle! This time around my luck is not as good and I'm on my third cycle so far after stopping BCP again.
I think charting is incredibly helpful especially when getting off BCPs just so you can tell when you're o-ing. You start counting CD1 as the first day of your period. Don't include any spotting you have before that...it has to be the first day of red flow.
GL on your journey!
Nicole
