Opinions on #of IUI's

To all:

My husband and I go back to our RE on Friday. This is for a follow up from an exploratory laparoscopy that I had done the beginning of August. Everything looked good there, I have a cervical problem, but other than that, DH and I both are fine. We are basically in the unexplained fertility catagory. I know he's going to tell us that we can continue and do another IUI with Follistim/HCG (this will be our 4th, 2nd with meds) or we could move on to IVF (which our insurance doesn't cover and is $10-12K) I'm just curious if anyone here has had IUI's done and what is your opinion (or your RE's) about the number you should really attempt before moving on. I've heard everything from it should work within 2to3 tries if it is going to, to you could do as many as 6 before it works. Just curious for opinions. Trying to decide what to do. DH thinks maybe we should see another RE for a 2nd opinion, but I don't think anyone else is going to do anymore that what we've already done. What do you girls think????
