OK ladies

DH and I have decided on IVF, just can't decide when. Problem is my work schedule, though I only work 3 days a week, it varies every week, and I have to put in my requests about 5 to 6 weeks ahead of time. When we do IVF, it is going to require the day off for the egg retrieval and 48hours of bedrest after they transfer the embryo's back in. So, do I take a stab at timing and request vacation for when I think it might be, or do I just be "sick" those days. The only time I've ever called in sick in the 2 years I've been there was in May with one of our IUI's. I'm just one of those people that feel guilty when I'm not really sick.

Second question. I really want to do this as soon as I can, but we are moving in November. So, do you think I should just wait until the beginning of next year? Or just go ahead with it in Oct/Nov and let dh do all the moving. I just don't want any unnecessary stress while trying IVF.

Desire', I would go ahead and do it now and just call in sick those days. I mean really. You wouldn't be lying. You will be taking care of yourself (and possibly a new life) and that's what you are suppose to be doing during a sick day. As far as moving, do you really think it will be that stressful? Which will be worse, the wait for IVF or the move? You've waited so long. I don't think I would let anything stand in your way. If you just call in sick, can you get it done sooner? Good luck with everything.

Hey Desire,

My .2, go for it now... and call in sick later. Sick time is excusable by such things as this under my dh's poilicy... so let it be under your as well. :-)

And, don't worry about the packing. At this point I'm sure your DH would be MORE THAN HAPPY to do all the packing and moving, if that meant you were pg! I was 5 mos. pg. w/ #2 when we bought our house and moved in. DH just gathered all his guy friends and made a party out of it, offering beer and pizza! That'll get 'em every time! LOL!

GL! I really hope you guys have a lot of success with IVF.

Oh, I agree with everyone else-I would go for it now!! But I am an impatient person. If you feel like you are ready, the wait may be more stressful on you than moving will be. GL to you and let us know what you decide!!
