Hi everyone, I'm going to be using OPK's this month and I want to make sure that I have all the rules first! 1. don't use fmu (afternoon of evening better) 2. you shouldn't have anything to drink for 2 hours before testing 3. try for the same time everyday 4. line has to be equal to or darker than the control line 5. once you get a + you have 24 to 36 hours to bd. What do you guys think do I have all the rules, would you add or delete anything??? What I would also like to know is if you should wait a certain # of hours without peeing before you test???? Please tell me what you think! Thanks, Lisa

Hi...

I just bought one too... , its made by Inverness Medical and it says:

1. best times is between 10am-8pm... most women find noon best.

2. reduce liquid intake and dont pee for 4 hours, for women who cant hold it for 4 hours, FMU can be used.

I am supposed to wait till day 11 of my cycle... which will be a week from Wednesday.... gee.. that seems like forever to me now!!

Hope that helps.. and Good Luck!!!

I also have a question about th OPK's. For those of you that have used them and work, how did you do this? At work? Also, I don't about you guys but it seems awfully hard to not pee or drink anything for 4 hours during the day?

Thanks guys!

I work your typical office job and don't really want anyone seeing me mess with my OPK sticks. I've decided to start taking my OPKs when I get home from work, at about 5:30 - 6:00 each day. (I've seen some posters say 12 pm - 8 pm are optimal times for OPKs, while a bunch of other posters say 2-5 pm... I figure, close enough).

I also found the "no drinking" quite difficult, since I usually drink water all day at work. I've cut back to drinking my water just in the mornings. In the afternoon I might have one water with a snack, but nothing major. By the time I take my OPK, it's probably been three hours since I've been to the bathroom.

Good luck!
