OPK Question- Did I mis-read a test?

Hello everyone-

So, this is my first real cycle TTC and my DR recommended I use OPK to better understand by body and cycle. Last month my cycle was 36 days, but usually when I am not on BCP it is 28-30 days. I know that I am in that getting regulated phase.

I started OPK at the end of June just to be on the safe side. Up until June 30 I only saw the control line (ordered OPK off early-pregnancytests.com). On 7/1 I had a faint test line, 7/2 had a test line that was not as dark as the control line, but just as thick, 7/3-4 faint test line. I assumed that I would O some time this week, but now I only see the control line again. I am utterly confused.

My tests say you are about to O when the test line is equal to or darker than the control line- that has not happened at all. But, now when I test all I see is the control line. Did I miss my O last week or do you think it will come later this week?

When you all test do you find that your positive O lines match what they are supposed to look like in the instruction papers? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!

What cycle days were you using the opk?

Thanks for the post. I started doing the OPK on CD11 and have been doing them ever since. Today is CD21 for me. I am going to keep on testing, and hope that I get a dark, dark test line soon.

I have not done the temp. thing yet- I think that may make my husband feel like I am putting more pressure on us to have this happen ASAP. I was hoping the OPKs would work, but if they don't I will likely go the BBT route.

Thanks again for your note.

I used internet cheapies. I tried different brand from different websites and even off of ebay. I found that I never got a + on them I would never get much more than faint line. I decided one month to try clear blue easy read ones with the 2 lines and I got positives on those. I then put the internet cheapies and those head to head using the same cup of urine and sure enough the clear blue read positive and the internet cheapie was a negative. I just stopped using the internet cheapies all together at that point and stuck with the clear blue. I also found the fertility monitor to be pretty accurate too. Ebay usually has some pretty good deals on the clear blue opk's and some of the boxes now come with a clear blue digital pregnancy test so it was even more of a bonus. I HTH and good luck.
