Ovulation after m/c question

Okay ladies. I just talked to my OB nurse and my levels are down to pre-pregnancy levels (not gone, but only like 2.5). She said there is no reason to think that I didn't have a complete miscarriage. Anyway, I asked her when we could start trying again and she said that there is no reason to delay.

I think I might be ovulating now because my CM is EW and stringy but it's only been about 12 days since what might have been the start of the m/c. Do you think it's possible that I'm ovulating so soon after a m/c? Do any of you see any reason why I shouldn't go ahead and try now? I started taking my temps on 8/29 (I've never charted before) because I thought when I started bleeding it was AF (now I know it was the beginning of my m/c). Anyway, my temps went from high to low and have been jumping all over the place ever since. If we do start trying again right away, will these temp changes cause a problem? I'm a little confused, can you tell? :) Also, when I got what I thought was AF on 8/29, I bought an OPK. Should I go ahead and test with it or will it be inaccurate because I do still have a slight hcg level? I've never used an OPK either so I'm not exactly sure how they work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Susan

Well, I cant jelp you much, but I would say to go ahead and try. If you think there is the slightest chance that you are o'ing then go for it. If you werent instructed by your doc not to then why are you waiting?

Hi Susan,

Yes, you can and some do O right after a m/c. This was my third m/c (just 17 days ago) and I definately O'd this month. We are TTC and so ALL w/e we BD'd like crazy (partly just b/c we were in the mood.) And, I've had CM (not as much as normal) but I have had it for 3 days now!

Take your chance! You are most fertile RIGHT after a m/c. Go for it!!! I have no idea about your other questions. I've never used an OPK and I've never done BBT.

GL to you and start BD!!!

Hi Susan,

First of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how difficult it is.

But I have a happy story! I had a very early m/c on August 10th (I was at 11dpo). It's now September 9th and I'm pregnant again, and this time I'm 16dpo. My cycle post-m/c was pretty normal (bleeding was heavier and slightly longer). I ovulated on CD15, which is normal for me. I didn't go to the doctor after the m/c because it was so early. Maybe I should have, but when I went to the doctor to get confirmation of this pg, I told her about the suspected early m/c and she didn't even comment on it!

Anyway, my point is that if you feel emotionally ready, go for it. I was told that your chances of conceiving during the two cycles following and early miscarriage increase by 50%. I'm living proof!!

BEST OF LUCK!!!

Kristin

Hey Susan, Go ahead and BD all you want. It's true that right after m/c is the best time to get pregnant. This is probably your best shot, considering. Hope it works for you this time.

Thanks guys. Sometimes you just need to hear those encouraging words after weeks of being on an emotional roller coaster. I'm excited about trying again. My dh is home sick today, unfortunately. I asked him if he felt well enough for a little hanky panky and he said he wasn't sure. Bummer. Hopefully he'll get to feeling better soon. Does anyone know how long you have to conceive after you see the EWCM? I guess what I'm trying to say is when do you get the EWCM, 2-3 days before o or the day of?

Thanks bundles,

Susan

Hey there! I'm glad you're feeling more encouraged!

Just so you know, generally "true" EWCM comes the day before ovulation. If you're DH can muster the strength, BD, BD, BD!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

I also conceived following a m/c. When I found out I was pregnant I was 3 days late. About four days later the m/c started. The next month I found out I was pregnant again exactly 28 days following the m/c. We are now using the m/c as my LMP and I am 25 weeks along. Good Luck and have fun BDing.
