Ovulation Cramping Question

Does anyone know when abdominal cramping occurs during ovulation? I thought it usually happened after O but this month I am feeling it early. I am not sure if that means I O'd earlier than usual or if cramping can happen a few days before O. Any information would be helpful. My husband and I tried on Sun (day 12) and today would be day 14 but I normally don't O until day 18. I just think maybe I O'd earlier than I was expecting and I didn't notice the signs. Anyone else going through this? Thanks!

"o" pain can start before "o" with the maturation of the egg folicle. It can also occur after you have "o"d as the corpus luteum (leftover egg sac) sticks around and emits progesterone.

HTH! It is normal!

Tara,

Thank you! I guess that means I should just keep trying and not think about it.

Gwen-

The "O" pain can happen at any time. I've read that the pain can be cause from the maturing of the follicle until the egg is released and there is some blood from the rupture irritating you fallopian tubes.

It's totally normal. I usually have about 2 days of sharp pains on whatever side I "O" on and then a day of crampiness (is this word?). It happens every month. Sometimes more pronounced than others!

You're fine!! Good Luck

Thanks for the information. I thought I was too early, but now I can go back to my original schedule for trying. I appreciate your response.

Good luck to you too!

I usually have light cramping every month prior to ovulation (or what should be ovulation) when the follicles are increasing in size. I've found that your discharge is the best indicater to know when you're o'ing. Good Luck!

Thanks. I have been watching for that sign for the past few months to watch my cycle. Of course, this month, it's not what I thought. But then again, what is?

Thanks again and good luck to you!
